I just picked up a tweed blues Jr. It sounded great at low distorted volumes, but I just noticed a rattle. I turned the amp to half volume and played clean. You can hear a buzzing sound. I thought it was the speaker so I plugged it into a sepperate cab. and its still there. It sounds like a electric hair clipper. Seems most noticable when playing the open e 6th string. I checked the tubes and they are not the culpret. I am hopeing the dude who sold it will take it back. I would rather keep it if the fix isn't to much$.

What you're describing reflects a coupling. It could be a valve, on top of that this amp is known as sensitive due to proximities.
A first try is to put plastic ring around the valves, second, try good known valves

Now V-1 is not lighting up and there is no sound. I have tried several known good tubes with no luck. All other tubes are lit.

This can indicate there is a failure, solder joints, track open, component dead ...; Once you have enough electronic knowledge and you open the chassis or you prefer contact a tech; Let me know.

Tis, A friend is looking it over for me. Before he left we found that one pin in v1 was not getting power. I am not sure which pin The one beside the reverb I believe. I hope he can track down the problem. I realy like that little tweed Jr.

These amps, along with the entire HR/BD series, are notorious for buzzing like a box full of africanized killer bees. Frankly, I think it's the grade of plywood used for the baffle boards and cabs.

if it's not a tube but a board, that holds the speaker, which was my case, i added some amound of silicon between cabinet and that board and left it to dry out for 24 hours. happy now.

It looks like the V1 is not getting power from the transformer.

I gave the amp back to my friend. He has since installed a new power transformer new caps and new tubes. The problem seems resolved. I think he should have upgraded the transformer, but it wasn't my call. BT
