A friend of mine that got into guitar and then quit has offered to sell me their lightly used Blues Jr. for $250. What do you think about the amp and the price?

Thats a great price if its in good condition... I like the tone from that amp, and it seems to be very popular. If you get it dont forget to send pics

That's a great price if the amp is "lightly used", as has been stated by the seller. The Blues Jr. in all its iterations seems to be a very popular amp. I have the NOS version with the Jensen speaker and couldn't be happier.

I have every bit of trust in the word of my friend, the seller. I will of course have to inspect it and look it over when they are able to get it to me, but until then I will be saving the money up for it.

Yes, $250 is a great deal for a "lightly used" Bj, if you like the tone and features of the amp. It's not a good deal at any price if you don't.

Go for it, the Blues Jr. is a great little amp and is very versatile for just about every genre of music although you'd have to use a pedal to get real metal tones for it.It's the perfect amp for classic rock and even Marty Stuart type rockabilly which I believe you were alluding to with "Tempted and Tried".You can't beat the price either.
