Dim the volume ??? this mean put the volume to low ? No problem, If you mean to push amp to full volume, you can.

"Dime" not "Dim". :D

To "dime" something means to maximize it, so to "dime" the volume means to turn it all the way up.

honestly, as a blues jr tweed owner and a 80's metal/rock player, i dont think you'll ever squeeze an 80's tone out of that amp. for 80's think Marshall,Carvin,Peavey bro.

DIME it bro!
but experiment with your guitar vol, your pick attack, and even amp placement-

putting mine against my bed (front facing out) or in the doorway of my closet (facing out)
really can change sound
i like to use my neck pickup to 1 click back, guitar treble around 3, and guitar vol on 6-10
---with the amp all the way up

You wont hurt it, but to get an 80s rock sound you may want to pick up a stomp box ( like a Rat)

You will eventually hurt it. Constantly running the amp flat out will take it's toll on your tubes, speaker and the cheap components and construction of the amp. Most amps don't sound all that great on 10 anyway. Turn it up till you find the "sweet spot" I guarantee you it will be before 10 on the dial. Probably somewhere between 6and 8 on the volume knob depending on your pickups. As someone else mentioned, use the volume control on your guitar.

Like 63 Supro said running the amp for long periods at full volume will cause extra wear on your components. If you want to get a real distorted sound at a lower volume just put your master volume on 3 and your volume control up full and engage the"fat" switch too if you want a little more kick.Running the amp on full tilt boogie for short periods shouldn't do any real damage especially if you have the Celestion Vintage 30 as I believe they're rated for 50 or 60W.

My 1st amp was an old bassman.
It was too loud for my mom's house, so I turned it on it's face on the carpet and turned it all the way up.
Worked like a charm.
