Hi,

Just recently (past 2 weeks) had JJ's put in, as welll as a celestion 30 speaker. Played a few times no issues. Now in the past 3 days, as soon as I turn it on, I get a loud static signal, almost as if it was picking up a radio frequency. I tried different outlets in the house, changing power bars, changing guitars, checked to ensure the tubes were seeted correctly, etc. NOTHING - BIG O -- any one give me some advice??

Thanks, in static purgatory

Taybru

Does it make the noise without plugged instrument ?

If yes, try to put back your original valves and let us know.

(Does you BJ bias modified ?)

could be Phase Inverter oscillation or some bad tube or bad cable

It worked ok first time..

Before you start working your way around inside the amp, have you eliminated the obvious? Check leads, guitar etc.

Also, make sure your mobile phone is nowhere near the amplifier. Look out for overhead fluorescent lights and old style TV screens.

One other thing, if you're getting static touching the guitar - do you have nylon carpets? you could be generating static off these with your footwear, and then discharging it through the gtr and amp.
