I purchased a Vibro Champ XD around November, and it played well until Wednesday night, when I started getting crackling sounds. I was jamming at the time (with a drummer who on his worst day resembles Animal) so everything was maxed, of course. Out of nowhere the sound just cut, and there was just nothing. Both tubes are still lighting up when I turn it on, the jewel still lights up, but there's no sound. The other guitarist present tried it with his guitar and cables, and there was a very low sound if you listened in the back, but right now, there's nothing but a hum. It also smells pretty burnt.

Advice?

+1 You may have killed the speaker, tubes or worse. The Vibro Champ is a practice amp, not really a great choice for playing cranked with an aggressive drummer.

Ahahaha, gotcha.

Thanks guys, I was really just curious as to whether or not it could hold up in a jam setting, and the first couple of times it did really well. Oh well. Warranty, here I come.
I'll simply have to pick up something more suited for jamming. I was certainly glad I own multiple amplifiers when that one went!

The drummer said something that amused me a great deal, "you rock too hard, bro."
