Hey, can any of you owners tell me if the two 12AT7 tubes are the drivers for the reverb and tremolo? My buddy is having trouble with his, and I'm trying to help him troubleshoot the problem. His tremolo died on him, the amp is about a year old. Any ideas?

Thanks

The two 12AT7s used in the TRRI are for reverb driver (V3) and phase inverter (V6).

You'll find a full schematic for the re-issue at the bottom of this document......

Vibrato section should have a 12AX7 in it. If the 12AT7 was accidentally put into this section, it could account for the poor vibrato. Gain is much less in a 12AT7 versus the 12AX7.

No tube swaps were done...it just stopped working.

Thanks for the schematic. I haven't found a chart that shows which preamp tubes are which when looking from the back of the chassis. Does V1 start on the right or left? (I ask because I don't have the amp in front of me)

V1 is the tube at the extreme right of the chassis as viewed from the rear.

The tube chart within the amp's cabinet will show the remainder of the layout in sequence.

Note that the amp's tremolo function will not operate without a footswitch.

Preamp tube go right to left, thanks. I've been doing the troubleshooting over the phone thus far, haven't looked into the cab yet myself. I did read about the necessity of using the footswitch, and had him check for any visible damage to the cord. Apparently, the reverb uses one of the 12AT7's, and I'm trying to determine if the tremolo shares that tube...or if it even requires a tube at all.

It turned out to be a loose wire in the footswitch. All is well.

Thanks for your assistance.
