I'm not a big fan of tube dampners. Maybe good to have around to keep the amp useable, if it should go microphonic while in use (kinda emergency thing). But, I always felt they dampen high notes, esp sustain and "good" ringing tones. Plus, I've seen some of the cheaper rings melt onto the tube and cause a smelly mess (at temperature).

Ya gotta admit a head version of the DRRI sounds pretty cool.

Just imagine !

And the tubes would love ya too

Agree! Thought about it... but I like having a combo with a 15 that's not too heavy. The rattles are only an issue when playing at home, you can't hear 'em playing out.

I've had the dampers on for a couple of days and haven't noticed a change in tone, the amp is still bright and sounds wonderful, and I get plenty of sustain. I'm only using 2 rings on each tube, might try 3 or 4 to see if it helps even more...

I went to mojo's site and looked at the head cab they offer, Tempting !!!

Then maybe a 15" cab or twin 12's ????

Might be a lot of fun !

Be sure those twin 12's are a pair of 16-ohm speakers wired in parallel.

Or you could do a little transformer swap.
