I just found a Super-Sonic head at sale at 50% discount and I wonder if it is the old model that some claim lack bass response? The model name is 216-0106-000

http://www.aage.dk/shop/guitar-toppe/fender/super-sonic-head-black.html

IF it's the old model, would I be able to live with it? I play a Deluxe Reverb now and it doesn't really have that much bass response either.

thanks

That's the "old" edition -- the current model has the "Super Sonic" logo on the front panel in traditional Fender script and uses the repro blackface grill cloth (on black Tolex versions).

Does it have enough bass response?

Likely it'll do better than a DRRI due to the bass-reflex sealed-back cab, but only your ears will decide if it's sufficient for you.

Hi! I have the Supersonic 60 watt head & 4x12 Cab and there is plenty of bass. I had the choice of getting this or the newer model but the earlier model was rockin' for me.

With the 4x12 closed back you wouldn't need more bass respone 8)

As far as I have read it should only be the drive channel lacking bass response. I am using stomp boxes anyway so this shouldn't be much of a problem. I would really like to get the VibroVerb and the Bassman sound in one amp.

It's only the top that's on sale, I will have to get a cab for it.

Exactly. I've been playing 4x12 cabs so long it's hard for me to like the single 12 combos out there. They have the 2x12 & 4x12 cabs for the supersonic heads. I got the blonde. Fender stopped making the 4x12 blonde but you can still find them. A lot of our local Sam Ash stores carry them.
