I play a fusion of rock, blues, jazz, pop, r&b, bluegrass and soft rock. I just got an American Deluxe, and I have a B.C. Rich Gunslinger retro blade(want to trade for a jackson dinky) I am also looking to add a Les paul, or maybe one of the new Vox HDC-77 guitars to complete my trio. Looking for my first good tube amp that might be able to accommodate these guitars and different sounds I want. I know eventually I will need different amps, but I want to start with a good super versatile tube amp.
I use the clean channel a lot, and reverb. If not on playing clean I like a slight crunch(like SRV). And then sometimes I want balls to the wall saturation: The lions roar. I guess like a Bonamassa sound. The amps I have been looking at are the Peavey classic 50(love the gain channel), Vox AC30(not sure about the OD channel) And The fender twin reverb 15", which seems like it would be my number one choice if it had an effects loop.
Is there something else i can put in front to mimic a loop, and still be able to bypass straight through for that super clean tone? BTW I will not be using a lot of effects. Mostly reverb, trem, echo, wah and distortion/OD. Thanks for reading, and any help you might offer me. :)

Take a look at the Supersonic series.

From the description of your playing parameters, I'd wager that the 60-watt head mated to the 2 x 12 cab stuffed with a pair of Celestion V30's might be just what the doctor ordered.

HTH

yeah, i was thinking about that one too. But I got the mustang for a practice amp, and had a hard time getting a good sound out of the map model. Gonna look for some real demos.

and the only other thing I was thinking is how a fender amp would react to a les paul type guitar(or more likely a vox hdc-77).

Oh yeah.

Everybody knows that Les Pauls don't do too well with Fenders......

I recently bought a Fender Hot Rod DeVille. 60 watt 2x12 combo. It is absolutely amazing. I've played my sss Strat, my 2 hb Peavey Predator and both sound great through it. It has 3 channels, clean, drive and more drive and they all sound good. I also have a POD 2.0 that I use in the effect loop and have no problems with that.

Re Les Paul through a Fender amp:I can tell you one thing for sure that's that a Les Paul sounds great through a Twin when played clean especially and through an overdriven Blues Jr. you can get a fabulous tone, full of raunch.

yeah, I'm thinking about both of those amps. What about running effects through a twin, is there something I could put in front to work like an effects loop?
