I just bought a Super Sonic 1x12 combo and love the sound. The problem I found is in connecting a second speaker (8 ohm) cab to it. I tried 5 different speaks/cabs that I have at home ranging from Celestion Vintage 30s, VOX cabs, Peaveys, GT12s, etc, and all sound great when plugged into the primary speaker jack in the SS (unplugging the Celestrion in the combo).

The speaker in the combo sounds great by itself too. When I plug both sources in, the volume drops. Not by a lot, but enough to be noticable. Gain gets weaker and it's on both channels - Vintage Bassman & Burn).

I asked at GC if anyone else had the problem to see if it was issue with this specific amp, but no one could advise. I am also using the jumper in the effects send/return to boost the gain and not sure if that's messing it up. It sounds like the ohm load is wrong, but the cabs and single speakers check out corectly on an Ohm meter.

Has anyone experienced simlar issues with external speakers, or have any ideas - other than sending it back or in for service?

Solved. It was an ohm problem after all.

Most speakers in the amps and cabs I have are not exactly 8 ohms, but within the tolerance from the manufactures. Add speaker wire and the cabs checked from 7.6 - 8.2.

I found a celestion vintage 30 in one of the 4x12 cabs that was exactly 8.00 ohms, which is what is is in the Super Sonic 1x12 and also exactly 8.00 ohms. Magically it works perfect and the volume does not change.

This amps sounds great and is a keeper, but appears to be very sensative to ohm load (at least the one have is). The 8 ohm 60W Mississippi Blue Marvel (Peavey) speaker sounded by far the best with punchy mids (which I put in my Blues Junior practice amp), but it only measures 7.4 ohms.
