J-7,
I've had the amp for about 3 months now. Personally, I love it. I get alot of alone time which allows me to open it up quite a bit. Only thing I had to do was replace the existing preamp tube which was on it's way out. I purchased my amp at a pawn shop and it came with a very decent nos zenith power tube, but the preamp tube was a bit on the weak side. Sounds great now, i'm very happy.
As for not being able to turn your ss 10w amp past one, then this amp is probably not the one for you. I'm sure you'd be able to play it at lower volumes levels like <3, but that's gonna be strictly up to you. Try one out, see if you like it then you can make an informed decision. Oh, an no headphone jack on this puppy, one volume knob and two input jacks. That's all its got, that's all it needs. :D
