Sure love my new Super Sonic 22. Most recent amps prior were Maz 18 NR, and Tiny Terror Hard Wired. Don't miss them.

When I got my 22, I compared the stock speaker with my fave, the Eminence Red Coat Red Fang....30 watt alnico. Not a real fair test, cuz the stock Fender wasn't broken in. Anyway, the Red Fang had a lot more warmth, and no big surprise, a really nice sparkle on the high end.

Moral of story: Red Fang is a nice upgrade in case anyone might consider it.

It fits, but BARELY. The magnets are bigger on the Fang, and ends up about an eighth of an inch from the back piece on the amp. And you have to ditch the nice little metal cage that protects your power tubes. Oh, well.

While I'm at it...one more mod. I put a Dr Z Brake Lite in the cabinet. It's a power attenuator, so it just plugs in between the amp and the speaker. NICE. Has four, settings, each with more volume reduction. Really nice to be able to sit down and practice at low levels and be able to get the amp to work a little...more sustain/body/punch.

Lovin' this amp.
