Gonna swap out the stock eminence in my hot rod for an Alnico Weber California 12 most likely. Anyone here heard the difference between the alnico and the ceramic cali?

I have not heard the difference between the alinco & the ceramic 12" california but I can tell you how much I like the ceramic california. I have a SCXD & I ordered a 10" ceramic california with the aluminum dust cover for it. It is absolutely wonderful. I play clean most of the time & with the weber I can play louder than my ears can stand & it's clean, clear with lots of tight low end. The aluminum dust cover has a reputation of being too bright but I disagree. The speaker is very well balanced. If you have too much high end just turn the treble down a little & the speaker will respond as you wish. The same holds true if you want to play with distortion. If it's a little harsh just back off the treble a little & you'll like what you hear. Good luck, you will not be disappointed by anything Ted Weber puts his name on.
