Hello,

I have the frontman 212r for 1.5 years now and since then I`m trying to get my sound closer to Greg Sage's Wipers. Most certainly an undoable task, since I need a tube, preferable an Ampeg, amp, but the frontman is what I´ve got and now I have and want to work with it. So is it in any way possible, just a bit closer?

I play on an Epiphone G400 SG Style Deluxe, with an GFS P90 Bridge pickup and a Behringer TO800 pedal infront of it thru the clean channel (I dont like the drive/more dive channel).

It sounds ok, better than before (though i dont know if thats due to the pickup change or the overdrive pedal.)

Is there any other (not too pricy) pedal I could use to get a slightly warmer tone out of the frontman, just a bit warmth? I´ve heard Sage used a fuzz pedal, would do that any thing to the frontman tone?

One last question: the sound sounds (?) a a little "in the amp" as though its not blasting out but is swallowed by the cabinet, a kind of hollow sound. Is that normal?

I´m very greatful for any suggestions!

With a freezing Hello from Berlin, Germany,
Rich
