Indeed!

Like the "Fritz mod".

(if you have not already done so).

Go to www.fenderforum.com and do a search for "the fritz mod" or find a user by the name "fritz d cat". Comes complete with schematics.

+1 He has a few "mods" that look interesting. I have not tried any of them yet !!!
Just looking at information...this amp has a long list of fans in many places, that seem to have done a lot with the amp through the years. The quest for tone...

Fritz mod 1

Fritz mod 2

More mods...

I haven't done either mod... I'm considering mod 2 though.

Fred is currently prototyping "Fritz Mod #1" to adapt it for use with the TRRI and SRRI amps. It may in fact already be done.

i know you guys are gonna think I'm fickle, however i'm going to try the weber 12F150 first and keep the ceramic for that blackface sound, if it wanks out on me I'll sell it off and try the12A150 next.

Looks as if a lot of guys tried the 12F150 with their DRRI and were very impressed.

Nothing wrong with the Weber 12F150 speakers,I have 2 in a '66 Pro Reverb and one each in 3 vintage Deluxe Reverbs at present. :) they won't "wank out" on you. :)
I think you will love it.

My experience with the DRRI.

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=54058&p=647312#p647312

I find that with my Les Paul the treble is not as bad as some others describe. Perhaps it's the single coils that give it the ice pick tone. I'll leave my amp stock.

The DRRI is the right amp for me.

Yet another member here recently contacted me about his Rectifier tube causing a rattle noise.
He can identify himself if he wishes.
So if your DRRI is buzz'n check your rectifier tube first, i'll bet you'll find it is the issue.

I bought a new Super Reverb in the late 60s and traded it for a Twin with JBLs in 1970. I also bought a '66 Deluxe Reverb for an obscenely low price some years ago and sold it for about 7 times what I gave.

That was my total Fender amp experience until I got a DRRI in May. I've always wanted a blue "Tolex" amp and when I discovered Fender had issued a limited run of blue DRRIs a year earlier I found one on clearance at less that the going price for the black "Tolex" model. Plus mine came with the fabled Celestion Blue speaker.

I've added reverb to the Normal channel via the Fritz Mod and have gigged with it twice, both times unmiked with a classic rock band. It is using NOS RCA grey glass 6V6s and the tubes (unmatched) are running 15 and 18 mA.

As far as I can remember I got no instructions with my new SR or Twin and never knew the inputs had a 6 Db difference till I got the DRRI.

The DDRI is possibly the last amp I'll buy. My main amp for the last 24 years has been my Carvin 1X12 X-Amp. I can use them both on stage with my Morley ABC box.

In addition to the blue jewel I've got red, purple, green, amber and clear. The MOJO award goes to the blue but I can change it out every set if I want to... :D

I've modified all my fender amps with the blue jewel. +1 for the blue! :D
