The amps themselves are the same, only the speaker configuration is different. 4x10 has more speaker surface radiating area than 2x12 and has the potential for being a little louder given equal speaker efficiencies and impedance load. The sound may be different, however. Try them both and pick the one that sounds best to you.

They will sound different. The four 10's will give you a little tighter bass response than the 12's. Personally, I like the sound of four 10" over two 12's. It's all a matter of taste.

Fender did it right with 4X10. I had a super reverb that was a very good 4 x 10 amp. I now have the 59 Bassman reissue fantastic 4 x 10.

The Deville is a an awesome amp. The 2 x12 will have a deep bass sound. Try the 4 x10 s and don't hold back it is your choice remember.

Let us know your choice.

just came home with a 212, since they had a brand new one, and the 410 was a floor model.

To tell the truth, I always like the idea of 2 12's , since Its more like a twin, and sounds great with my les paul and strat.
I did not even bother trying out the 410.

Kind of ran with the 212

And a 4x10 is more like a Bassman. 8) :D

i think the 212 is a killer amp.really loud.
the 410 will handle country and surf sounds better.
but for rock and jazz the 212 is way better.
i would go for 212 cause you can always cut the bass :)

go to the shop with your axe, play on both and decide for yourself.
internet opinions are sometimes so far from reality...
