2x12 is also a great setup.

A pair of 12's will put some real beef into a Princeton......

This "Dual Porch Weasel" conversion is perfectly compatible playing opposite a DRRI or even a SRRI in small-to-medium venues.

I know I've seen that setup somewhere before :) there you go Jeff, that's what you need! I bet your PRRI will sound completely different with a setup like that.

I've bought five vintage Fender amps off of Ebay -- haven't gotten burned yet. All five were exactly as described. Two arrived with damaged tubes, which were replaced at no cost by the sellers.

Likewise, I've bought perhaps a dozen speakers there as well. With one exception (which was a PITA to resolve) they've all arrived and functioned as listed.

Make of that track record what you will.

I've only been burned one time, however UPS has destroyed several nice pieces in transit.

besides craigs list does not have you bidding along with several million others and so i find that i can get better deals there too.

That's true as well.

And you can both buy and sell on C/L without exhorbitant transaction fees. I've bought stuff there periodically and unloaded a few things too.

One needs only the requisite amount of patience for wading through the responses from all the spammers, tire-kickers, and jerk-offs.

I add a note to each sale item and it says NO Scammers or scammers will be shot and it works !

Also i say on the ad that i only accept phone calls, it elliminates most of the window shoppers.

I do get the guys who want to talk Amps and guitars sometimes and have made some friends and met some cool peeps there including a guy who fills in at buddy guys legends in Chicago (only 60 miles from me).

Same here.

I've met a few local folks who've become friends and even drummed up some guitar-upgrade business clients for myself.
