So I got my PRRI in from UPS today. Didn't have too much time to play around with it, but what I did I liked. A lot. I have a gig on Friday so we'll see how it responds to the stage.

I can, however, already tell that the amp is going to need some "alterations." I'll be on the horn with Eurotubes tomorrow getting a retube kit with some JJ's. I also know the stock speaker ain't gonna cut it. I'm looking for some advice on what speakers I should look at to replace it. Right now I'm leaning toward a Celestion 10" Greenback, 16 ohms so I can run it with my HRD cab, which will soon have a 16 ohm Vintage 30 in it. I've also read good things about the Weber sig 10 alnico too. I'm looking for and open to any suggestions. Thanks much.

- Jeff

Those are some fine speakers -- I suspect they'll be very simpatico with one another.

One would hope, lol.

I've been reading a lot of your posts in the vintage section. Makes me think I should start keeping my eyes open for some good deals on old BF/SF heads.

"Old BF/SF heads" can be rebuilt into some pretty tasty combo amps too......

This one began life as a silverface '68 Bandmaster head.

Now it's a mobile-and-tactical 2 x 10 screamer.

It's a good thing I don't know where you live, lol. You'd have a very unwelcome and frequent "jam guest."

I replaced stock speaker with an eminence copperhead which is very fenderish sounding and more efficient to increase headroom. I also replaced the OT with a Billm audio/Allen amp T020 OT to beef up the bass and overall range and punchyness. That and the JJ power tube swap and a rebias has put me in tone heaven as well as being able to be heard over a drummer.
