Hello freebird.
I've got a 25R, too. It's a great little solid state amp. Had it for 5 years.

Hi freebird58,

"Simple Man"! Simply the best. The first Skynyrd rhythm that I learned was "I know a Little", which is appropriate for me, and fun to play. Listening to "Gold and Platinum" right now. 8)

Welcome to the forum, Freebird ! I think you'll find the folks in this communty friendly and very helpful. Let's see....."Poncho and Lefty", didn't Skynyrd write that piece ? Art

Welcome.

I too have a Frontman 25R (Along with my BDRI). The first thing you should do is replace the stock speaker with an Eminence "Ragin Cajun" speaker. Best upgrade you can do for the amp. Much smoother sounding and way better bass than the stock speaker. So much bass, in fact, that it caused the speaker grille to flap and vibrate against the speaker hole. Unlike the costlier Fender amps, the 25R does not have a grille frame. I made one out of a piece of wood trim strip from the hardware store. Very easy. If you are interested, let me know and I will explain. Don't want to bore anyone unnecessarily.

Freebird58,
From one Ohioan to another, welcome to the form. Age has nothing to do with music, only the sound does.
