hello- i just bought a used 2000 cyber-twin and had it for 3 days when the digital display blacked out. the power light comes on and another green lite lights up but nothing else works. the cat i bought it from said i should take out the powerswitch and just by-pass it out so when i plug into the wall the amp will just turn on.

i dont know if this is a good idea. the on/off switch is a little loose back there. i had it plugged in at my house for 3 days and when i took it to our practice place i plugged it into a power strip that is plugged into a long extension cord. i dont know if thae long cord may have had something to do with it or not

has any one out there have this problem before and if you would PLEASE PLEASE help me out. i just got everything down and dialed into a likeing of mine when she went black and i am totally freaking out cause i wanna play this thing. IT SOUNDED FRAKKING AWESOME WHEN I HAD IT WORKING!!!

THANKS MATT AND KELLY

If your amp is still under warranty, bring it back to the dealer, otherwise I recommand to find a good tech for repairing. Sorry I never opened the chassis of this amp and consequently no advices.

The "cat" that told you that should be beaten nine times, within an inch of each of his nine lives!!!! You are right to question him. The long cord shouldn't be a problem, but what the cord was plugged into could have been. Was the outlet a three prong, and was the ground plug intact on the cord and surge strip? But sounds like you have at least a problem with your switch, loose? But, definitely check your warranty, sounds like you may need a tech. :)

thanks for the help. i am gonna open up the recepticles that we have extension running out thru the yard o the shack we practice in and see if both of them are grounded. maybe that is why it works whene we plug it in the house and not out in the practice shack.

my other guitar player who plays thru a custum is constantly on the " get rid of it kick" -- i almost dropped him last night i said " hey man this cyber twin blows your custom out of the water-- just shut up!!. we are going to find the problem and rock on with it!!" he wants us to be all custum amp sounding. i say no to that theory. one custum is cool with the awesomeness of a cyber twin yes!!!
