I purchased my HOTROD DELUXE back home in Australia and now I'm here in the states it is set to 240v input and WILL NOT WORK. Seems like a dumb question but will replacing the Trasnformer with one found here in America solve all of my problems, and if so are there any hints and tips from someone who has preformed this procedure before that I should know about before I attempt this...

This tranny should get you back in the game......

http://cgi.ebay.com/Fender-Power-Transf ... 5d2b7b9dc2

Any qualified amp tech should be capabile of installing this in an hour or so.

Best of luck, HTH

Your current export transformer can be rewired for 100V. I think you can ask to a tech if it is OK (rougly 10% higher votage) otherwise order a domestic transformer one as Retro recommand.

I too saw that on the schematic, Tissan. But after some down-and-dirty calculations I dismissed that possibility since typical residential wall-socket voltages here in the U.S. are now approaching 120VAC, even exceeding that in some cases. I'd hate for the gentleman's amp to fail the "smoke test" -- thus I erred on the side of caution.

+1 Retro, the only solution is to order a domestic one as you recommand.

Be sure to keep your original P/T handy so if/when you return "down under", you'll be all set to swap again and rock the outback.

Best of luck and let us know how it goes.
