The Celestion Gold is a very warm organic speaker. I think you'll really enjoy it. They do take a while for a full break-in......25-30 hours should do it.

Thanks Arjay,

Here's an interesting article on how to break in a new speaker.

Any comments appreciated.

I'm old-school and still use "method #6".

After four or five rehearsals any new speaker of mine is as broke-in as it's ever gonna get.

But I know guys who hook new speakers up to an AM radio and let them play for several days. Apparently, Michael Savage's show works best (if it doesn't fry the speaker outright in the first hour).

I came up with an idea of recording myself play my stuff and let it play through the computer to the amp and speaker like the AM radio trick.
Another option is to play alex jones through his bullhorn. "WE WILL DEFEAT YOU!" over and over.

I love Alex Jones.

His prisonplanet.com site is one of my regular stops when surfing.

Have you ever heard AJ interview Tony Gosling?

Not sure how AJ can afford to produce films to put up for sale then encourage his audience to share the videos on youtube.

Most of the times that I've heard Alex Jones were when he was a guest on Coast To Coast. He's about the best guest that Noory has.

George Noory's alright but I still kinda miss Art Bell, myself.
He sure had his act together and he definitely had the right radio voice.

Used to listen to Rush Limbaugh but outgrew him.

One thing is for sure, whether one agrees or disagrees with AJ, is that
AJ does do his homework and as a friend would say, he's got his ducks in a row.

What gets me though is as "acidic" as AJ's comments can be concerning secret societies, one would think that IF it were true, you'd think he'd be scrubbed. That is unless of course the "SS" actually wants this info out there to desensitise the masses. Or AJ, himself is conciously working for the SS's propaganda machine or is a useful unwitting pawn in the "Grand Chessboard". Perhaps they all are.

Regardless of radio personality Liberal, Conservative, Democrat Republican or some third party, male or female, $@!& or Straight, etc there is a common observation or common theme in each one of them -
That is Anger.
As though the topic and subject content specifics are not what is important but that you should be angry about something.

I take much of what I hear and read with a grain of salt.

"$@!&" = Home Oh
LOL

I just finished burning a CD compilation of Coast To Coast bumper music.

It's really amazing how all those diverse musical genres work for the radio show.

Here's the cover art......

I think I preferred Art's tastes the best. Everything except the ABBA stuff, that is.

That tune by "UFO Phil" is a hoot!

Yeah, Art definitely had good tastes and his choice of titles really did seem to fit his shows.
I forget the details but one episode had a guy talkin about a UFO that looked like a "floating Boxcar" -
Art's guests could really get out there.
Art's responses could be hilarious sometimes.
"Really!?!!?!?"
"Can you believe that, folks?!?!?!?!!"
"Amazing!!!!"
"I don't know what to tell you"
etc.
(forgot "WOW!")
Looking back, it seems like Art was able to find these people and let them tell their strange tales and then with a very, very straight face respond in
such a way that makes one wonder if the story is really true as it were a rumor mill. In other words, Art may have enjoyed pulling your chain all along.
Kinda like a Phil Hendry without the character ventrilloquisms.

Indeed. Art is the epitome of "cool".

He had fellow ham-radio buff Joseph Walsh one evening for a short segment regarding broadband over power lines -- very enlightening.

Noory's had the Reverend Gibbons on a couple of times. I guess Billy is also a long-time fan of C2C.

any one tried a celestion lead 80 in there? How about an emminence cannabis rex? I'm hearing good things.

Basically, I've decided that I want to go for the clean headroom w/ pedals for distortion route. So I'm looking for a speaker that's good for cleans

Joseph Walsh as in That Joe Walsh?
(By the way, I just now remembered the Vice President's first name
It's Joe. Thanks Sarah "You betcha" Palin. If I hadn't remembered
her askin' "Can I call you Joe?" I'd still be trying remember.)

I remember when I was on the road driving a semi all over the US, I remember coming across "TruckZilla" back in the 90s. It was a Ford AeroMax if I recall right. Personally, I am not a fan of Ford, but the driver was ok in my book.

I just might have a hankerin' for listenin' tonight.
Trouble is, it was a LOT easier to listen to the radio when you're on the road. When you're at home or fiddlin' round wherever, talk radio is impossible for me to follow. Such cases I'd play some background music.
Some people can walk and chew gum but not me.
