Ok, after much experimenting, I found that Cornell-Dubilier mica caps sound the best in the 0.01 mfd/0.01mfd/0.02 mfd trio of caps in the vibrato section of most Fender amps with this efx. These almost made my BF PR sound as good as a BF DR (which uses both halves of a 12AX7 in this stage).

Problem is, they are EXPENSIVE. Both if you seek crazy good vibrato and have done everything else to clan up this stage....

The tremolo effects of the Deluxe Reverb and Princeton Reverb are as audibly-different as night and day. Most people -- myself included -- prefer the bias-modulated PR circuit over the more common opto-isolator type of the other blackface amps (excluding the Champs). Congratulations on improving whatever it is you think you improved but I do not share your enthusiasm.

That's interesting, Beemer ! Never tried silver mica caps in that circuit. I imagine they would be quite precise and quick reacting. I've used the SBE 715P and 716P OD caps with good results, and of course ceramic disc. I have some OD's I got from Victoria, in the B Master. Don't know the brand, his stuff is all proprietary, probably nothing very special. On another cap front, I have been using PIO caps in my two amps for the tone stack and elsewhere. Have you tried any of these ? I also have an Auricap feeding the PI in the B Master, thinkin' that's just too precise. I'd appreciate your opinion. Art
