After reading BillM's speaker page and reviewing the Eminence speaker literature, information suggests that the Eminence Legend GB128 would be a great "blues" speaker in the Blues Jr amp. And yet, you hear very little about this speaker.

I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who has tried this speaker in their BJr. Thank you for your responses.

cheers

Hi there.

I do not have a Blues Jr., I have a Peavey Classic 50 212. Both of these amps are EL84 output tube based.
The Peavey has more power and two speakers, so while they cover the same market, mine is a bit louder.
I put a set of these in mine and now I have a amp that sounds like a Voc 30.

That is the easiest way to describe, these speakers were made to go hand in hand with EL84 amps.

I would strongly recommend them as well.

I have not yet used one of these in my Blues Jr, but I built an extension cab for my Peavey Classic 30 and installed the 12" Eminence Legend and it is the best sounding amp I have for blues and rock.

Just an unexperienced opinion about Eminence speakers: Always considered them as chessy, low budget speakers. Many years ago Ted Weber stated that, Eminence was one of the most precise builders and were capable of making execellent units. I think it wasn't until the early 2000's, that Eminence decided to emerge into the specialized speaker market. From all of the reviews, I've read, they have succeeded. An American company, using as much American supplies as possible, is enough reason for me to try their product for my next speaker need. Their selection seems to cover all the bases. I'm thinking about trying the Rex Cannibus. And as usual,"keep your pipe and rolling papers away from my speakers". Art

Thank you to all who have responsed to my query...

Art, i too have given some serious thought to replacing the stock speaker in my BJr with a CRex (seems to get rave reviews), but i am very intrigued with their GB 128. You don't hear much about this specific speaker. Plus it's about $20 bucks cheaper.

Anyone else out there who has tried the Eminence GB128?? Again, thank you for your input.
cheers
