Hello All,
I just wanted pass along a recommendation for an excellent boutique amp builder I came across. Chicken Pickin' amps out of Neshanic Station, NJ builds a very high quality FE3 with top notch quality parts and meticulous attention to detail. Their fully assembled FE3 with MM transformers, orange drops, etc., a Mojo chassis, and a Jensen P12Q only runs $949. And they are some of the best sounding FE3's around. Highly recommended.
FYI.... I bought the Fender 57 Deluxe, but the first one died in a few days and the second one developed a bad squelch/squeal after a week or two. No, it wasn't glass or a cabinet buzz. And I'm a home studio player and run my amps at very conservative volume levels. Too bad, because I would have preferred to buy a Fender brand Deluxe.

Not really. An amp is only as good as good as its parts and the person assembling it. My Egnater was built in China and so far has given me flawless performance. I've had problems with current production Fender amps, even while trying them out in the store. It's pretty sad when there's quality issues with an amp in those price ranges.
