Any (preferably inexpensive) tips on how to increase the amount of bass these amps produce? I love everything about them, aside from their relative lack of low end.

We've ruled out turning the Bass knob up I assume? A solid state rectifier may help but I've also got a '59 BM and not lack of bass output from mine with a tele. YMMV.

Checking the bass knob was rather high on my to-do-list. I play in a very low tuning, so the frequency response I'm looking for is probably lower than what you require. I play in dropped A. I'm into drone music.

What do you want? Louder bass or deeper bass? I don't have one but everyone says they are quite loud. The low "E" on a guitar is only about 80 Hz, I believe, which is not very deep.

Don't forget, the Bass, Middle, and Treble controls are very interactive so some experimentation is in order. Don't use the Bright channel either.

A little bit of both.

+1 on both counts
