A harp player friend of mine was asking about a small amp for harp, yet loud enough for vocals.

I thought that a Fender Blues Jr or Pro Jr would be sufficient for his harp playing at jams or small gigs, especially if miked through the PA. But not sure about vocals.

Any other suggestions?

thanx for your input, cheers.

A Tweed Deluxe 5E3 Clone would be sweet.

Ok don't laugh. I have a friend that uses a Crate VC508 that puts out a pretty close "Little Walter-style" Blues harps note. It has a gain and master volume control so you can get that crazy overdrive tone early in volume range. It' a cheap amp, so I had to beef-up a few components, use hardy tubes (Tungsram 12AX7 and Sovtek EL84M) and added a Muffin fan. Also a nice ceramic Weber speaker. He's been using it for about 5 years now.

I have no idea how'd it sound on vocals. Prolly a Champ or Princeton would be better for that.

I know an amazing harp player who uses a Roland cube fore some stuff. But then he could use a couple of tin cans and some string and sound good.
