Hello All. During the memorial day sale at G.C I got a new Drri. Sounded good at store. Had tech re bias at 25 ma, sounded better. A few days latter I was hearing with power on and stand by on and Nothing Plugged in, Faint humming, poping, static buzz.....Tubes? Before I call G.C is there anything I should check. Will Guitar center replace tubes or give me the run around. OH ya, when I turn the reverb knob back and forth there is a fuzzy crackling sound.....not dirty pot sound. No other knobs do this. Any thoughts on how to handle this. I have full warrenty.....Thanks Tom

Tubes make noise. The store was noisy which drowned out the amp noise. Your home is quiet. Guitar amps are not hi-fi products. I have never seen signal-to-noise ratios published for guitar amps. I don't worry about "faint" noise. When the noise becomes louder than "faint" I would worry. It is up to you to determine the point at which it becomes annoying.

Hard to say without being there.

Sounds like a bad solder joint, again depending on what exactly your hearing.

I would be more inclined to say it was an iffy pre amp tube.

Me? I'd take it back...
You paid over $800 for noisy sounds coming out of the speaker?
If GC says it's normal ask to return this one for another or for a refund and buy another one. Or take it back to GC and turn it on for them inside the Acoustic Guitar Room and see how loud it is there.

Agree with Tyronne, if the amp is still under warranty, do not hezitate to ask for repairing and don't touch anything, you should loose the warranty.
