OK, I tried input #2 with the volume on 6 and ... you must be deaf or wearing earplugs. I found the volume to be excruciatingly painful. There was a difference in the volume, but not that significant. I am looking at a Weber Mini Mass and Dr. Z Airbrake right now. Still wondering if anyone has used the Bad Cat The Leash. Thanks for all the input and ideas.

No to both.

You must have very high output pups (You never did identify what you are plugging into the amp, which may help in finding a solution.) or are playing very hard.

They are high output humbuckers ~14 ohms, custom home built scatter wound pickups in a Tradition S20 (Les Paul). I had to back the guitar volume down to about 2.5. Even my 98 Dlx Super Strat with stock pickups was loud. I play mostly blues and not what I would call hard.

I guess you mean 14 KOhms. Be interesting to know what the output of the Super Strat pups is. I think my SCNs are around 5.5KOhms for neck and middle, and around 7 KOhms for bridge, but I'm not sure. Anyway, that could be the explanation for the perceived difference in loudness between our two setups.

Be sure to get the 50 watt version if you go this route.

On the Weber website it says you should get one rated for twice the wattage of the amp so he'll need the 100W version.

You're definitely right! I was thinking of my DRRI instead of the OP's Blues Deluxe when I wrote that.

Absolutely correct on the the pickup 14K, checked my notes and they are alnico 2 magnets.

Well, that probably explains the differences in our perceived volume. I just checked my SCN specs. The neck and middle are both 6.5K Ohms and the bride is 11.5K ohms. I have them set very low also.
