Just to start off, I have no ties to these sites or products

I was on a website the otherday and ran accross these.

www.billmaudio.com

http://home.comcast.net./~machrone/bluesjunior.htm

Anyone with a Blues Jr. will find this interesting, lots of great info. and mods. Just wondering if any of you folks have done any of this? And one in particular I like is wiring in for a ext. cab and still able to use the internal speaker while maintaining the 8 ohm rating.
Many very cool things, so I thought I'd share.

Read the mod list and associated comments very closely. You should not add the ext. cab jack without an O.T. replacement ($10 +$65); you should not replace the O.T. without doing basic mods and for best results, tone stack mod should be done.

To do the mods correctly with best results and no increased failure rate, parts will total approx. $170. If you're handy/experienced in electronics fine, if not, probably have to add another $50-$75 for a tech. to do the work.

A new BJ costs around $500, so you'll have $700 +/- in the modified package. That $700 will get you something bigger and better with a warranty, so the question is Why? (I've been debating doing this, but am now leaning toward NOT.)

But, to each his own. :)

Bill is THE man when it comes to all things BJr! I did the adjustable bias mod, and the tone stack and "twin tone" mods with fantastic results. Do a search on the "Blues Junior" on this site, and you should find many many threads about the amps. It seems like there is a new thread about them every week. :)

On BJ my point of view is a bias adjustment is welcome because too hot.
