i came across a fairly local ad for an apparently rare custom blues deville 212 in blonde tolex and brown grill.
so in the ad the seller says it's rare. even says only 150 were made.

anyone still seeing these around anywhere? has anyone tried one? they probably sound the same or similar to your standard blues deville.

i'd like to get my hands on one but the seller won't respond. not even to tell me whether it's been sold or not!

My point of view is : rare is not a proove of better sound it's just a question of marketing !
Does this amp have the sound you expect ? I yes buy it and enjoy music :)

hey man
thanks for the point of view
but i wasn't assuming it would sound more amazing just because it's marketed as rare
i was actually just curious if people have seen these around lately or if anyone has tried one and could offer a first hand opinion on what they thought

I just picked up one today. I haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet but I can say that so far it rocks! Nice LOUD tube tone. I was told that the 212 is a little more on the heavy tone end than the 410.

hey there is something to be said about uniqueness.

I just recently nearly bought a pro-sonic just becouse it was one of the surf green ones.

I passed when the guy stuck hard to his price.

There is one on Craigslist in Denver for $400 as a comparison point. I have not played through a BD 212, but do have a US made HRD that I would trade for a BD, 212 or 410. :)

picked it up from a blues guitarist in niagara falls, ontario.
i should visit that city more often come to think of it. ha

but yeah the stock speakers sound great to my ears as is
i was thinking of taking the v30 put of my blues deluxe RI and swap it with one of the one in the Deville.
Might be worth a try anyway.
Buddy said he already had it retubed to break up earlier as he wasn't a loud player.

cheers.

4 * 10's will have a more sold punch than 2 * 12's :)
The main thing that changes between editions, limited or not is the outside covering, and sometimes the brand of speakers inside. The electronics stay the same.

In any case it is a LOUD amp.
Cong-a-rats on the new acquisition :!:

Yes they are rare. I have a '57 reissue and there are only about 150 out there. Mine sounds wonderful. It's blonde with brown grill. In my opinion there's nothing that sounds so good. You can get a ton of tones from it and it cranks to 12 instead of your usual 10 or a "Spinal Tap" 11. I'm willing to part with it for 300 bucks if anyone's interested. I feel like that's practically like giving it away. But I'm looking to get some new equipment for live gigging. I can send pics. Perhaps a sound byte. It is a 212 so don't get confused. Again, sounds amazing and in my opinion you can find a nicer tone in a combo-amp.
