About four months ago I spent several weeks and several hours playing a Deluxe Reverb Reissue and a Twin Reverb side by side trying to decide which one to buy. I choose the DRRI mainly because of the weight and cost. I love my DRRI. I don't know why but for the last couple of weeks I have been looking around for a new Twin Reverb and trying to justify yet another new amp purchase. I almost bought a new Twin on Labor Day. As luck would have it, I found a really nice one year old used one and I purchased it today. All I can say is, what a great amp. I just got done playing through it for the three hours and there are no issues. I have always been reluctant to buy used amps. Guitars I usually only purchase used. Does that make sense? Anyway, the Twin sounds great. I keep buying amps and guitars, four amps and three guitars in the last 2 years. Is this normal or do I need professional help? Anyway it sure is fun.

GAS comes in cycles. Was a time I was buying a piece of pro-grade gear every 4 - 6 months. Then I suddenly lost interest in accumulating gear and actually started selling gear off. Last new guitar I bought was my G&L Asat in 2007 and didn't feel the urge again until recently. Now it's amps giving me GAS. Jonseing for an upgrade to replace my Blues Junior. So far the Rivera Venus3 has my attention.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Yes, it's normal, and yes you need help. Many of us here have the same "ilness", but most of us don't want any help! You are not alone my friend.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. No therapy for me. Oh, I did forget a fourth guitar I purchased used, but sold two week later. I guess I don't have to really count that one. Now, what's next? Maybe another guitar. :D
