I hated that tube retainer when I owned a blues junior. What a pain in the butt when swapping tubes...

As long as the spring touching the tube isn't causing a rattle, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Hi Jazzyguy,

It depends on how the spring is attached to the chassis. One of my springs was touching the tube at the chassis end, I found that I could move the hook on the end of the spring so that it comes out of the chassis hole away from the tube. It's kind of difficult to unhook and rehook the spring, but it can be moved so that it won't touch the tube. But, like djv18 said, as long as there is no rattle caused by it, it is OK. If you are OCD like me, you can move it over. :) After that, I put some tube damper rings on and the rings held the springs well away from the tubes.
