i noticed this last night at the club, the light on my amp that indicates the power is on would be very dim or not there at all , i switched it to standby after our first set and and slowly the light would return to its normal brightness. i play with a volume control on my amp that runs thru the power amp / preamp jacks, i run the amp thru the drive channel with the drive ussually at 3 or 4 and the master at 11 and use the volume control to obtain the overall sound level. my power tubes are biased right around 34 . is this something i should be concerned with or is it that because i run the amp pretty much full out it doesn't have any juice left to supply the indicator light . next question... thinking about trading in for a custom vibrolux reverb . does any body have thoughts on this amp . i play all blues and have a very dynamic style and played this amp once and liked it but just looking for more opinions . i play everything from small clubs to large theatres and outdoor festival stages . any help would be appreciated.
many thanks jon

The 'jewell' light is connected on 6.3V (T47), indicating that the filaments are supplied. If you have no issue with the sound, I feel that just a problem of contact of the jewell lamp itself. Unscrew the jewell, clean the lamp botom and replace it and rescrew.

Let us know

(By the way, unplug the amp and take care if you open the chassis, there is 450V DC that can be fatal)

I agree with Tissan, either the bulb is loose (not pushed all the way in and turned), or the bulb just needs to be replaced. They can be a pain to install correctly as they are a bayonet type instead of screw in. They have to be pushed in and turned about an eighth of a turn to lock the lugs in place. I used to have a small rubber suction cup that made it simple to change the bulbs, with dry fingers it's a beach to get the bulb out.

I've had to change the light before. It's not hard. Just get a thin piece of rubber, like one of those things you put over a kitchen sink drain (flat). Use it to grip the bulb. Makes it easy to turn, once you push down on the bulb.

Or even a wide, flat rubber band.

If it turns out that your bulb is wonky go to any well-stocked electronics supplier -- you can buy a 10-pack of #47 bulbs for the price of a pair on Ebay or at your local Fender dealer.

As for the Custom Vibrolux Reverb, it's pretty capable in most respects but many (including myself) detest the repro Jensen P10R speakers. A better choice is the Weber 10A125 -- they're more articulate throughout the entire audible range and the bass doesn't flab out when you hit a loud open low E string.

I found my bulbs at Radio Shack.
