Anyone seen these?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJthZh0CC6A

Just found out in the mail catalog from GC.COM. I was able to find one vid on them.
In the GC catalog, they claim to have a new tube padding also to eliminate annoying rattles. Sounds like they took a page from Peavey's Classic 50 book. "bout time".

Called Fender, got some info on it.. Sounds cool.

Anyway, thought I'd share.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Still haven't decided to get an older model and mod it or get a newer model and keep it stock for a while.

Thanks!
Peter

Keep in mind there are certain people who make a living from convincing people they need to mod there Fender amps to make them sound "right".

I kinda doubt those people would give an upgraded Blues jr. a good report, I'm just guessing its a big part of there business.

Go plug in and let your ears tell you not some guru online.

Yes you are absolutely correct! But still...charging 70€ more for the current model...that review gave me a good idea of where my 70€ are spent and that is in my opinion (and my taste only here) is not worth it. I'd rather buy the old one and swap the speaker to Jenson.

--> I truely don't enjoy the sound...I hope that is the result of bad recording...

cheers

That review is very bias. The author seems to set the article up so that the readers will look into sending their amps for his mods. I would read other reviews to get a better idea. A better review is to go to your local shop and test drive it yourself. A youtube would also be a good alternative if there is one for the new hot rod IIIs already.

Skip all the reviews and try the amps out for yourself!! Youtube videos are usually pretty bad. The amp is out for a week, not even long enough to break in the speaker and folks are already talking about modding them. I've been warning people for ages about the whole Hot Rod Series and modding them because someone tells you you need to. If you want one of these amps, you really need to try one before you buy one. Don't just order one mail order and hope for the best. The new improvements that I hoped would be real improvements may be nothing more than turd polish.

So right, I don't buy into the Billm "voodoo" - he's all about pumping up the BASS in these amps and using a Swamp Thang speaker...really ? In that little mdf box - all that bass. I have yet to hear/see a youtube video that does a great A/B comparison of the stock and modded BJ.

That Fender clip with the gold CS strat is pretty nice...imho
