Hi!

I have a Fender Blues Deluxe amp, and as known it has no master volume. I was wondering if you could build your own "master volume", bulid an attenuator?
Yes, i know that there are many great attenuators out there, such as the THD Hot Plate. I have heard some demoes of this on YouTube, and i didn't like the distorted sound it was producing when turning it up, i prefer a clean and clear sound. So, is it possible to build an attenuator on your own?

Which do you want? A master volume or attenuator? They are two VERY different things.

Either are doable if you are handy with a soldering iron, and know how not to zap yourself inside an amp in the case of adding a master volume.

The Blues Deluxe already has a master volume on the drive channel. So I assume you want master volume control on the clean channel? Try this: http://taweber.powweb.com/store/modkits.htm#mv

Yes you can build your own attenuator also:

But if you prefer a clean and loud sound, then it might be a waste to add a master volume or use an attenuator because they are used to get preamp (master volume) or power tube (attenuator) distortion at lower volumes. Hence, why you "didn't like the distorted sound it was producing when turning it up". I'd say your fine with your Blues Deluxe as is.
