I've seen some examples of tweed Blues jr. amps on this forum and others. They are not listed on the website- is it a special order item or a piece no longer in production?
Thanks!

Unforunately, Fender doesn't list its limited edition and special run guitars and amps on its website. Strange in the case of the tweed version of the Blues Jr because they don't seem to be that 'limited' since there seems to be thousands out there over the past few years or whenever they came out. It looks like they are still in production judging from the number of websites that have them for sale: http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q= ... a=N&tab=wf

They are still available.
I had one, sold it, and wish I had not.
As you probably know the tweed has the better Jensen speaker.
They are listed at Musician Friend and others. Most are calling it NOS.
They are at $599 and used at $527(MF)

There are 3 tweeds, the nos version with the jensen speaker and lacquered tweed, the reg. Tweed version same as the black only covered in tweed and a nice grill cloth land then you have the relic one that looks like its been gigged to death, it also has a different speaker. Which one are you looking for?

If you're considering any of them get the Blues Junior NOS.
It's 15w of 12AX7/EL84 power, a master volume, and the Jensen 12" make it the best sounding of the series. IMHO.

Agreed I recently bought the Blues Jr. NOS with the Jensen and it sounds great with whatever guitar I run through it. Even my wife could tell the huge difference between this and my Vox AD50vt.

Great cleans and handles pedals very well.

Mine was on sale for for 549 and with discount coupons I got her for 480.

I have a Fender Blues Jr. NOS w / tweed covering. It is a very nice amp but I am soon going to be upgrading it with some Bill M mods and a new Eminance Texas Heat speaker.

The mods are:

Cream Board Basic mod Kit
Switchcraft input jack
Twinstack mod
Presence control
Audio-taper master volume control
TO20 Heyboer transformer
Standby switch

I'll update when mods are complete........

The reason I asked was that I currently have a '10 American Deluxe on order and am considering a Blues Jr. to go with it. I've never seen the tweed version on the website and was curious about whether it was readily available.
Thanks to all who responded!

Nice.
I've been hearing a lot about Bill M's mods.
What's the twinstack mod ?

If possible, please make an mp3 sample after the mods.
We'd love to hear it !

Thanks

Some review on Musicians Friend said that these are only made for Guitar Center and MF.
This is from the the 5/28/2012 review: "I was disappointed in the Tweed Covering. It is real Tweed but is not Waxed. I called Fender and they said this amp is a special run for Musician's Friend and Guitar Center ONLY! So they take them whether they have been Waxed or not because of the demand for the amp."
