I have a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10. I am really wanting to use it with another extension cab, hopefully a 4x12, so that I can get a heavier sound out of it. I love the amp for its cleans obviously, but I do play rock to metal as well and I want a more full sound. So I was wondering if I can add an extension cab, and if so, what ohm load would I need the cab to be, and how would I have to get it all set up to work great??

ALSO I am just wondering what your thoughts are on which amp from fender is the best for rock to metal music, Ive heard so many bad things about them but, the MH series? Or what? Thanks Fender community!

You can add an extension cab to your amp by plugging into the extension speaker jack located on the bottom of the chassis. The 4 x 10 version should only be used with an additional 8Ω load so connected. If the internal speakers are not used, the extension cab must be connected to the primary (main) speaker jack.

Thanks!! Im assuming the external speaker output is next to where the internal speakers are plugged in, there is no labels, be it from wear over time or just never was. But if I plugged in an external, 8 ohm cab via cable obviously, I could use both the internal and externals with no worries?

According to the schematic, yes.

I've got a Hot Rod DeVille 4x10" and I use it with the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Enclosure.

There're 4 ways of connecting speakers:

1. only the internal amp speakers (8 ohm) using the MAIN jack
2. internal speakers AND an 8 ohm extension cab (must be 8 ohm!!), extension cab into external jack
3. only an extension cab (8 ohm) into the main jack
4. only extension cab (4 ohm) into external jack AND a blind plug into the main jack (the blind plug is important in order to avoid amp damaging)

After looking at that..... Would it be possible to plug in two cabs and not use the internal speakers?

As long as both cabs are 8Ω, yes.
