Hi guys,

I want to do a bit of testing with some new speakers, I have a Celestion V30, a Celestion G12t-75 and the Stock Jension P12N.

So, where I'm at is I have each of my speakers wired up in a cabinet, and my amplifier (a HRDlx, supro, yes I understand your view on these amps, no need to respond here about that :P)

Now I haven't done anything yet, I'm asking before I act, but I was wondering if I turn my amp onto standby and then swap the cable for the speakers, will that wear out the transformer because theres nothing there to load to power onto. Or do I have to turn my entire amp off before I can swap the speaker?

Can't wait to hear from you guys,

Dan

Hi Impulse7,

That is what standby is for, to swap cables and such without having to turn the amp completely off. When in standby, the high-voltage is off, so no output from the transformer to the speaker. After switching to standby, wait a few seconds before swapping your speakers.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.
