I am wishing to purchase a new guitar cable, but am a little overwhelmed by the large array of instrument cables available in the marketplace. I play mostly blues and am not wanting to pay more than $30 bucks.

And maybe i should pimp my speaker cable as well... any suggestions, please.

Many thanx for your time.
cheers

There certainly are a bunch of cables out there.
I would look for middle of the road (price) I like the cables with the Switch Craft style connecters. Here is a low end example and will work great if your just plugging in at home. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid

And here is the cable that I like

Hope this helps

Agree with bill948. Just make sure that you use instrument cable for your guitar and speaker cable for hooking up speakers. There is a difference. :)

I've been real happy with George L's. The jacket is a bit stiff, but I have no problem with them. Sound great and are really quiet.

I use RODAM cables because they have a lifetime guaranty. Keep the cardboard lable the cable was attached to and keep the reciept. I like to put them together in a ziplock bag to keep them from getting wet or separated or lost. If the cable fails for any reason at all you take it back for a free replacement. I took one back that had been cut clean through in two pieces and they replaced it. Clearly neglect on my part and they replaced it anyway. And they're tough. Does your singer wear cowboy boots and like to stomp across the stage with his heels crushing your cables? Don't worry. The gig will go on uninterupted.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
