I'm psyched....
I've got a 57 Deluxe reissue arriving here Monday.
The perfect big brother to my 57 Champ reissue.

I hope the Deluxe isn't too loud. I often play late in the evening and don't want to bother the neighbors. I have heard that the Deluxes are very strong for 12 Watts.

Anybody own a Deluxe and care to comment ?

Well I bought one on a whim a couple of months ago and it sounds great, really nice, and I love playing it at home and getting good tube overdrive at a sound level you can live with.
I can't leave well enough alone though, and I replaced the 12AX7 with a 12AY7 like the originals had,and replaced the speaker with a Weber alnico.
But the original Jensen reissue that came with it sounded good also.
You will love it if you've been happy with the RI Champ....no doubt.

Oh....one other thing, play around with the volume knobs, they interact with each other....plug into the Instr. input..put the tone where you want it and the Instr. vol. on about 6 1/2 with the Mic. vol. around 10 1/2....you get a big clean overdriven sound.

A couple of months ago I tried 57 deluxe and VOX AC15 at the same time with a telecaster and gibson lespaul;

The 57 has a "sound" very precise in particular in medium and bass (Thanks to P-12Q), it was a great. There is no effect, only volume and tone. I didn't try the MIC input. I like this amp. It a high grade !

The 57 level of sound will make you neighbors musician !

Thanks for the replies.....

1) Yep, vintage tubes going in ASAP. I am a huge RCA blackplate fan. That's what I've got in my 57 Champ.

2) Glad to hear the Jensen P-12Q sounds good.

OK... somebody please explain the interacting volumes.

Are they stacked gain stages ?
I though they were independent channels (Inst vs Mic)
And I've seen pictures of players with one channel jumped to the other.

The tone interact with the volume (R10/11/12 and C4/C5).
You will see also that MIC and INST have the same input stage.
