Cant do the vibrochamp or superchamp, theyre hybrids.

Cant do the Pro Jr I think now as it is too loud for my bedroom. Whats the point of having a Pro Jr and not being able to pass volume 3 on it ?

The AC4TV just seems to suit me better. The only thing Ill miss is the glassy cleans, the AC4TV is more british clean.

If only Champion 600 were a little better and with a 10" speaker...

With the Vox AC4TV, you can get a nice clean tone certainly loud enough for the house. Switch it from 1/4 watt to the full 4 watts and play away. Add Overdrive pedals to suit. The Vox doesn't quite have the sparkle (high frequency response) of the Fender, but it's close enough for a domestic situation.

The other thing that the Vox does brilliantly, is achieved by setting the volume control to the point where the sound is just beginning to break up (use 1/4 or 1 watt settings in the house) and then hitting that with an overdrive/booster/distortion. The driven sound then is superb - not at all 'pre-amp' thin, but 'power amp' chewy and thick. And all at volume levels that won't have your neighbours assembling outside your house with pitchforks and flaming torches..

Yeah, I guess later on Ill get a Champion 600 and put some Weber Alnico 6.5 Ribbed, some Groove Tube Golds High on it and use just for the sparkly clean tones.

For now, I think the AC4TV will suit me very well along with a TonelabST and some CS69 pups.

Thanks!

You can still build a nice Champ for less. For me, the 600 isn't worth the effort, you can do so much better or just buy a Fargen, great amps by the way.

Just had a look at the specs on the Fargen mod Champ 600..

All that work on parts, replacement valves etc, and it still appears to keep the stock speaker? Go figure..

No, in the video he says its replaced for the Weber Signature Alnico 6".

But after another night barely sleeping on that... I just might get the Pro Jr as bang for the buck. Pretty much louder than I need, but i can work around that with a Weber 10" early breakup speaker and some high gain tubes...

Maybe if I spend that kinda money in a champ600 Ill never forgive myself for throwing cash away for a 6" amp.

FENDER LOOK AT THE AC4TV FROM VOX! WE NEED A FENDER AMP AND THAT KINDA FEATURES! AS 1/4, 1 AND 4W KNOB! I WOULD REALLY BUY THE AC4TV IF IT WASNT SO 'BRITISH' AND HAD MORE CLEAN HEADROOM.

FENDER WE WANT A CHAMPION 1000 FOR SAKE, WITH 10" SPEAKER, 1W 3W 5W ATTENUATOR, GAIN/TONE CONTROLS AND MAYBE A SPRING REVERB FOR THE COST SAKE OF $249.99 ! BUT REALLY I WOULD PAY $299.99 FOR A AMP LIKE THAT AS THE PRO JR IS JUST TOO LOUD.

A fulltone OCD or maybe a Ibanez Tube King could overdrive the Pro Jr at low volumes to sound as good as the AC4TV overdriven ?

What does "practice amp" mean to you? I see it this way :

Bedroom amp: Quiet play at home or apt without disturbing others.

Practice amp: Enclosed room with bass, drums during rehearsal. Loud enough to be heard, mix not relevant, tone not critical.

Gigging amp: Full show volume; can be heard on stage. May or may not be mic'd for FOH depending on need. Tone counts.

Lets say Im between Bedroom and pratice. When my wife is not home i my want to get it louder. But most of the time It must be at normal lets say as loud as watching a good movie on the home theather.

I really like the AC4TV and its overdriven power tube tones. But I find it lacks that fenderly sparkle.

I really like the PROJR but to get it satturated itll be too loud, so a Fulltone OCD (is there a better OD pedal?) may get close to the AC4TV on overdriven tones on low volumes (say 3-4 on the PROJR) ?

ANY amp can be a practice amp either by lowering the volume, or being able to practice loud.

But a "practice amp" is an amp not loud enough to gig with (although rooms are getting smaller so more and more "practice amps" can be a gigging amp. A "practice amp" may be loud enough for full band rehearsals providing they're not dress rehearsals and done at volume.

A "practice amp" may still be too loud for the bedroom or other room late at night.

To me, a Blues Jr. is a practice amp, although sometimes it's loud enough to gig with, same w/a Pro Jr or a Princeton Reverb, and all Champs.

15wRMS and below = practice amps, though some 15-watters like Matchless and VOX can be really efficient and louder than usual.

16w-29w is small gig territory, depending on efficiency, speakers, required headroom, etc.

30w+ = real gigging amp territory, and some rooms will eat up 30w amps and those require about 50w+.

Thanks for the quality explanation!

I cant see me gign for a while yet... just to amateur for that.

Let me expose my mind a bit. GILMOUR, HENDRIX, THE EDGE. Those are the guys that I want to get a "closer" tone, I know with that kinda equipment I cannot nail them. But I want to get the tones just about close if so.

AC4TV vs. PROJR. Pretty much hard to choose by my point of view.

The AC4TV is great for a 4W Class A, sure I can crank it up in my house for pure tube overdriven tones. But lacks that sparkly fender clean tone, yes. I intend to use it along with a Tonelab ST and a analog delay unit.

The PROJR is a much louder amp than I need for 15W. But this makes me think about the future, when I someday shall need more power, its there. But here I cannot crank it on my home for satturated tones. Then I think of using a Fulltone OCD for it. May I get some nice overdriven tones as the AC4TV haves by itself ?

Both options will be good for the 3 guys I mentioned before ?
