Hello guys,

Just one more doubt I got to sleep over for a couple of nights.
I´m getting a pratice all-tube amp for bedroom levels. No I have no ways on testing them before buying.

The both Fender Pro Jr. as the Vox AC4TV sounds awesome, I know.

But in my bedroom i dont think my ears will like when I want to crank the 15w pro jr for driving that tubes. In that point I think the AC4TV shall suits better. You can easily crank it without ear bleeding problems. Am I wrong ?

I´ll be using it along with a Vox Tonelab St and a HWY Strat. Show me your thoughts. Thanks guys.

Yeah the AC4 would probably suit you better. Personally though I would take my old 76 Fender Champ over either of those ^^

If you're using a Tonelab ST, that will give you whatever gain sounds you're looking for. Probably the Vox will play with more variety at low volumes, but the Fender has that great vibe that I love in a clean...and I own both a Fender G-DEC 3 and a Vox AD60VTX. Personal preference is key here. Order both from a vendor who has a 30-day or more return policy and keep the one you like better! Amps MUST be heard to really make a decision. Your opinion is more important than ours!

Have fun,
Bob

That is one of my fears. I cannot afford not to have a good clean vibe bell sound. I want to play hendrix, gilmour, led, u2 etc.
I´m also considering the AC4TV HalfStack.

As I live in Brazil, theres no 30 day return policy for me. I really must choose based on what you guys tell me.

You need a good clean sound from the amp to make the Tonelab able to do its job best! I personally like Fender cleans best. Gilmour & Hendrix use a lot of clean amp sounds with effects giving the grit and distortion. But if you are more concerned about volume, go with the Vox. Personally, I'd stick with the AC4TV, not the stack, but again that's personal preference.

Either amp sounds great (I've played through both). I don't think you'll be disappointed with either.

I really LOVE the sound of the Pro Jr. But then again whats the point of having a tube amp and not able of cranking it ?

I fear buying the Pro Jr. and using the headphones more instead.
I fear buying the AC4TV and not having that beautiful clean as Pro Jr.

For my wifes sake, I own a FM25DSP and I gotta put the headphones on if i want to crank it.

Is the AC4TV able to get that "Lenny" chimey clean sound as the Pro Jr. can ?

Now Im thinking back on the Fender Pro Jr. for the clean tones I can get from it. Somehow seems that I only can get that kinda clean tones from the Vox AC4TV at really low volumes 1-3 from 10.

The Vox AC4TV would be perfect, if it got some more headroom for the cleans before breaking up, and some of the fenderly spirit into it.

Show me your thoughts.

The Pro Jr is indeed too loud for my bedroom. And I want a tube amp, so I can really USE the tubes.
So as the volume say on 3-4, and a tube overdrive pedal, shall i get the same crunchy tones as the AC4TV crancked ? Will a tube overdrive pedal really pushes the PJr power tubes ?

+1 I have a 74 Champ. You are on a Fender forum. I do agree about the AC4.

Although the Fender will probably give you better clean response the Vox is probably better suited for your situation.
