I am in the market for a new amp and was wondering if anyone has experience using effects pedals through a 65RI Twin Reverb. The choice is either between a new Fender 100 watt Pro tube Twin Amp or the 65Ri Twin Reverb.

I have a '65 Twin reissue and I run a Boss SD-1, TS-808 Tubescreamer, Boss MT-2 Metal Zone, and NYC Reissue Big Muff through it. The Twin takes pedals very nicely, but you have to remember that it's an extremely clean sounding amp so your pedals might not get as "dirty" as on some other amps. Do you have a Guitar Center nearby? Go there and plug some pedals into the thing and see what you think.

I also have the RI Twin. I run tons of effects
Vox Clyde Wah, Analogman Juicer, Fulltone Fat Boost, Analogman King Of Tone, MI Audio Crunch Box, Boss DD-5 Delay and sometimes a line 6 modulation pedal.

I have been running this set up for years now and am in love with the tone I get. The ONLY problem I have with the RI Twin is that it is a LOUD amp. I normally cannot get the thing above 2 without shaking the walls. It surely does sound incredible though at that volume.

I have the 65 TR R/I and IMO it does very well with effects pedals, I have the boss overdrive, distortion and equalizer pedals along with a dunlop crybaby and all the pedals work great thru the 65 tr r/i. Of all the pedals, the only one I have a problem with is the equalizer, no fault of the amp, the eq is very noisey. However, recently I have gone back to the basics, guitar/cable/amp, because I have discovered you can get so many sounds from the 65 tr r/i, without the use of pedals. 8)
