Wouldn't this device have an adverse effect on air flow and cooling?

As an experiment you can back your amp up to the wall and move it slowly away from the wall-- listening to bass changes. Think the effect is very amp & cab dimension dependent.

and the speaker would need to be changed to match
pressure changes towards the cone.
Some speakers perform better with closed back cabinets
that others.

Guitar shop near me had one of the previous versions in. Out of sheer curiosity, I played one of his Deluxe Reverbs on it.

Definitely more bass through the horn, but you also got about the same amount putting the amp up near a wall. 4-5 years ago they were $250, which seems crazy given how little wood (or particle board) is there. It was also heavy and unwieldy.

Recommend pass as well.

"We’re looking into redesigning the Enhancer into a plastic “pop apart” cabinet that will ship in a smaller box in a flat configuration and assemble once purchased"

Sounds like a smart idea. Make it collapsible and portable

I'm lucky that my cabinet is convertible open or closed back. In the past (with other amplifiers) I've often had the problem that I can't hear my amp well enough but everyone else complains the guitar is too loud -- never considered that it could be due to the open back cabinet.

That said, can't say I agree with the claim on the website that open back cabinets have "an inherent problem." Nor do I think I'd buy one of these.

Daniel.
Plenty of "convertable" speaker cabinets available with many suppliers.

I'm close to having some custom speaker cabinets built.
I've studied/researched and my inclination is for open backs.
But maybe I'll have them all in convertables just for that option.
I am only going to build maybe six unique speaker cabinets,
as the rest are readily available.

What do you think? Toppscore :)
