I have a Fender GE 112 enclosed speaker cabinet (1996, MIM) which i sometimes use with my BJr. But, I have never really liked the sound i get out of it - too bassey. I am assuming that is characteristic of an enclosed cab and mediocre sound from a stock Special Design speaker?

Would i get a better sound, ie., more highs, from the cabinet if i was to mod (open up) its rear panel?

And how the hell does one remove the rear panel off these enclosed speaker cabinets?? There are no screws or easy access.

Thanx for your help.

Yes you would! You could open it up consideribly! Start with small opening and try it. You can test it and open it more if you need to!

I know a guy who just did the same thing. He is much happier! He only has about 4" left all the way around his 212!
