I am looking for a new amp (currently using a cheapo 15 watt) Looking at the Blues DeVille 410 reissue as a replacement and something not to have to replace for a long time (unless I blow it up, not likely). I was wondering if someone has this or has played it. Looking for that good blues sound.

I have the Hot Rod Deville 4x10 (very similar), it sounds great. Plenty of clean power, great for blues. It handles effects pedals very well. With (or without) the right effects pedals you can get just about any sound you want from this amp, from clean jazz, to blues, to an almost Marshall-like rock sound. It is very versatile, clean and very loud, hope your neighbors are understanding.

One of my neighbors thumps (C)rap music a lot so I won't mind ticking him off for a change.

That's prolly not the kind of contest you want to engage in unless you enjoy visits from the local constabulary.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Here is my tip,

You need a Blues Deluxe amp, replace the GT tubes with JJ tubes all through and put in front of it an Ibanez ts 9 just to compliment the overdrive channel on the amp.

This will give you a very nice blues sound. The rest is up to the guitar selection.

Jimmie Vaughan Tex Mex with a TS 808 RI or TS9 Tube screamer and Vox wah.

I had choice between Blues Deville RI and Blues Deluxe RI, and took blues deluxe...why I chose deluxe instead of deville:
1. blues deluxe has a little warmer sound on same settings (I guess because of 1X12")
2. it is smaller, and easier to carry
3. it has 40W, and deville has 60W....I think you'll never need that much power! I don't use my blues deluxe ever over half, but I would like to...and with 60W, it is even harder to get those tubes warm and juicy :)
4.it is cheaper :D
I had money for both models, money wasn't problem, but the main reason I bought blues deluxe is, when I got into the shop I tried all amps from hot rod series, and just fell in love with blues deluxe :)
I use Strat and Les Paul, strat is my main guitar for blues, I use it with TS9 and Crybaby Wah....and get really good blues sound, I have Seymour Duncan pickups ssl1 set, which is a little bright, and this amps are bright to, so I roll off highs on amp....that way I use drive channel on blues deluxe as a boost channel, and ts9 as main drive pedal....
When I play Les Paul with my rock band, I use drive channel as a DRIVE channel, and I use TS9 only to boost some solo's.....with drive channel on Les Paul you get really crunchy good overdrive....drive doesnt sound that great in your room, but it sounds great with the whole band.....
I wrote all of this, because I guess situation is pretty much same with Blues Deville :D
