I need to replace my stock reverb tank in my late 90s hot rod deluxe amp (Accutronics 4EB3C1B). For some reason that particular tank is harder to come by than others, and a little more expensive. I have seen a few similar tanks offered and wonder if they are compatible. for instance: 9EB2C1B, 9EB3C1B, 8EB2C1B.

As I understand it, although they have the same input/output resistance designations (EB), the 8 and 9 styles differ slightly from the 4. is it enough to make a difference? could it damage my amp?

also, will there be any noticeable difference in the quality/sound of the reverb if i switch to one of these tanks?

thanks!

Can anyone help? I've tried several forums, accutronics told me to contact fender, and I don't know how to contact fender. I tried a local fender service center, but they want to do the work themselves. I simply want to know if the 8 and 9 style tanks are compatible with the HRD. Thanks.

The 9eb2c1b is the one I used! It is a 3 spring tank and is compatible with the HRDx! I had no problems with it in the HRDx! Gave the Hrdx to my brother and kept the 9eb2c1b for another amp! Put the stock one back in because it was a good tank and I wanted to keep the 3 spring versus the 2 spring! There is some difference but not a lot!
