I bought the NOS tweed version last Monday, and I loved how it sounded in the store. With that being said, I didn't get to put the master volume above 2. After messing around with the amp, I noticed at volumes above 3, there is a horrible distorted noise coming from the speaker whenever I play several notes together. Not an overdrive noise; but, I don't know. It's like there's the note being played, and then there's this distorted version of the same note that sounds horribly muffled. Also, whenever I play a G note, mostly on the 12th fret 3rd string, there is another horrible high pitched clicking noise coming from the back of the amp.

Now this is my first tube amp, so I'm not sure if this type of problem is common. Perhaps the speaker isn't worn in? Or maybe there is a problem with the amp itself.

Has anyone had this problem with an amp before? Is it fixable? Is it something the warranty would cover?

Thanks for any help.

I just got the same amp and I absolutly love mine. Don't give up on Fender tube amps, because there is nothing else like them in the world. These Blues Jr. NOS amps can be hard to find, but I would take it back and have them get another one for you. Sometimes they have to get one from another store, but this can usually be done inside of a week. Before you take it back make sure you try another guitar, and cable just to be sure the problem isn't something other than the amp. I also have a Vibro King Custom, and a tweed Hot Rod Deluxe. This little Blues Jr. NOS gives me a great sounding smaller amp that is much better than other brands. Good Luck...
