While it appears the line out is an external speaker jack for the amp, I found mine did not work. At first I thought it was my new extension cabinet, but when I unplugged the internal speaker and plugged the extension cabinet in the speaker out port, the external cabinet worked. Both speakers are 8 ohm. What should I expect out of this amp?

The line out is not an extension speaker jack. I don't know where you would get such an idea.

The line out is for going to a PA mixer or the line in of another amplifier. It is not meant to drive an extension cabinet at all.

As mentioned, the line out is not an extension speaker out at all. It is meant to go to a PA (sometimes a direct box will be needed), another amp, etc. A very useful feature.

+1

The line-out can also be used to feed a tuner or a recording device (the latter may require a buffered D/I adapter).

If it is in fact a line out, its still good news for me because I can use it to record directly to my JamHub instead of using microphones...

No worries, the "IF" has been answered. Better response would have been "Since".

When using your line out connection to daisy-chain to another amp with in/out power amp jacks, beware of ground loop or ground lift problems. At the minimum such situations are an annoyance -- at worst they can present a serious safety hazard.

Heh. Yes, actually, and that's why I said "never mind" as I realised that basically me post was a repeat of what Sven had already said.
